What do you get when you mix 70s boho with the California desert golden glow? Sydney + Austin. These two are high school sweethearts and went to UCLA together for college. They moved from Santa Cruz, then down to LA, and then up to Portland, and now San Diego!
They’ve decided SoCal is their forever home. They’re desert babies; Sydney says she’s like a lizard that needs to bathe in the sun.
When they reached out for me to capture their wedding and engagement photos, I was instantly on board. She says she fell in love with the 70s retro vibe and candid posing my photos show… not gonna lie that was the best compliment ever.
Seems like we’re a match made in heaven! Anything with copper and cream colors, groovy vibes, warmth, and boho dreams: yeah, that’s me. And that’s sooooo them.
Sydney is a fashionista and true extrovert with a wild heart, and Austin is her fun and live-giving sweetheart. They are like two peas in a pod. It’s no wonder they fell in love! We get along so well and I’m sooooo stoked for their wedding coming up this fall! They’re planning on having lots of flowers, disco balls, and neon lights! UGHHHH that’s my Pinterest board dream come true!

They knew they wanted the Palms Springs mid-century modern vibes for their photos, something that would pop and be unique to most engagement photos. So they rented an Airbnb out in the Yucca Valley desert for the weekend for their engagement photos!
We started inside the dome for some photos in the kitchen, bedroom loft, funky chairs, and spiral staircase! It was fun to get creative and do something new and unique! I loved how they rolled with everything, danced around to some 70s psychedelic music, and kissed (a lot). It was such a fun time!
The Airbnb dome sits on a huge plot of land stretching to the mountains! So we didn’t need to venture far for some golden sunset photos out in nature. The wind was blowing so much, but it actually made for even more epic photos. Who doesn’t love a wind-swept hair and movement?! It was absolutely perfect!
