I met these Tyler + Krista 4 years ago when my mom struck up a conversation with a bartender. So random, right?! 😂 That bartender was Tyler!!! She hyped me up #thanksmom.
Ever since I took their 2 year anniversary/maternity photos, we’ve been homies ever since!
Since, we’ve done many shoots together and a few double dates. These two are REAL DEAL quality humans. They encourage me in my faith, give me overwhelming support, challenge me in my business, and are overall great friends. I look up to them completely! They are not only such amazing clients to have, but they bless me in so many other ways (I don’t even think they understand the impact they have on me).
It was amazing getting to celebrate their 6 years of marriage, even through this covid pandemic. I’ll always feel honored when past clients keep coming back year after year! It’s people like Tyler + Krista that are the reason why I love my job so much!
THe shoot:
I remember when Krista was pregnant with their son for their 3 year anniversary photos! Now, baby #2 is on the way, so their anniversary photos had a maternity twist! I love it when the guys want to get involved with the maternity shoot too. It makes it more meaningful to have dad in the photos!
Since we’ve taken their past photos in fields and forests, this time we went to one of the most iconic San Diego beaches for their session: La Jolla Cove! It’s a tourist and locals destination for photos and sea lion watching. It is known for its dynamic rocks, snorkeling and kayaking in the caves below, and the sea lions that nap under a gorgeous sunset.
We had a couple encounters with the sea lions and needed to keep an adequate distance between us and them. They can be dangerous! But we had the best time splashing in the water a bit and getting some creative shots. It got pretty cold as the sun went down, so having a blanket as a prop really worked out! We finished up the evening with the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in a long time.
San Diego really is incredible :D.
