Modern Industrial Austin, Texas Open Air Wedding

Melissa and Frank are hands down the SWEETEST people on the planet. They made me feel like family by the way they welcomed were so excited to have me at their day.

I’m always enthusiastic about any destination wedding, but for some reason, I was really craving this Texas wedding! It was my first time in the Lone Star State, and it is just as incredible as I had hoped. The charm of the people, the warmth of love, and the country spirit! Melissa and Frank’s wedding had every bit of that charm, but with twists of romance, sentiment, and modern style, from the country boots to the kisses under the night sky.

When they were dreaming up their double aisle open-air ceremony in the converted schoolhouse in this historic city, I was right there with them in the excitement. They decided to be unique and have their guests surround them so they could be just as part of the ceremony as them.

Two aisles, half moon shape! I love it!!!

I couldn’t help but whip out my line dancing/two stepping shoes during their reception either (fun fact: before covid I went line dancing any weekend I wasn’t shooting a wedding! It’s my happy place).

The details of the day were incredible, but it was more about these soulmates choosing to commit to each other before Jesus, and that’s the most beautiful thing.

Their love story:

Melissa and Frank met on Hinge a couple years ago, and it’s been love ever since. She’s a graphic designer (she designed every piece of signage at the wedding — gorgggggg). He’s finishing a nursing doctorate in Louisiana. He proposed at home because that is where Melissa feels closest to her late father.

Their wedding date holds even more sentimentality for her as December 12, 2017 was the last day she held her father's hand this side of heaven. December 12, 2020 was the first time she will hold her husband's.

Now if that isn’t beautiful, I don’t know what is. Wishing the biggest blessings upon their marriage!!!
