Jazz-filled + Classic Movie Wedding in the heart of LA

Alexandria + Luis

Alexandria + Luis' wedding was one of my favorites of the year. They are not only the kindest, but they are one of those rare couples who are not afraid to be truly themselves. Authenticity for the win!!!
I have so much love and respect for both of them and the families they've built together.

Their wedding was filled with music, beauty, and glam. Some highlights:

- macaroon board
- THIS DISNEYLAND MOVIE SET VENUE LIKE WHAT?!
- Edith Piaf & doo-wop classics
- Luis being a literal model and busting out all the moves for the camera
- live jazz band
- her Marilyn Monroe vibes
- the cutest and kindest flower girls I got to hang out with
- mac & cheese. nuf said

A backstory on them —

Alexandria works at a veterinary hospital and Luis is a barber/musician on hiatus. They’ve been together around 7 years, when they met at a bar and starting slowly rebuilding their lives together. Their family is super big on music, which makes so much sense that their wedding featured a jazz band and vinyl record DJ. Their son is an aspiring musician; Luis has given him plenty of inspiration. It was so personal listening to him sing and play piano as she walked down the aisle.

Ava, their 3 year old daughter is, in Alex’s words, a “force of nature all her own; she keeps us very busy and a little afraid.” She looked like a princess in her flower girl dress, except for the fact she kept tripping over it every few seconds! Luckily there were never any tears with that… she was such a trooper! (there are pics to prove it… see below)

When I rolled up to where Alex was getting ready, I felt a whoosh of calm and relaxation. I had good vibes about this day. She got ready with her girlfriends at her maid of honor’s house in the heart of Los Angeles. First of all, that apartment was the cutest place ever. Minimalist, Parisian, and clean vibes to the max! The air was calm and collected, as the best, Edith Piaf, was playing over the stereo. The girls were getting all glammed up in a classic with a bold, statement lip. Alexandria seriously looked like Marilyn Monroe meets American silent movie. She was stunning.

As if it could get any better, we moved to the venue, where it actually looked like Disneyland Main Street or a Universal Studios movie set. Although it was a hot day, the breeze blew so perfectly right where we were. There were 5 Victorian-style houses that were all museums by day! They all had stunning colors and exciting architecture that honestly made me super giddy to just be present! The florals were perfection, and everything looked perfect. They had so many vintage accents that fit the setting so seamlessly!

When Luis arrived looking super suave, they were ready to see each other for the first time. Alex was a little nervous, and Luis couldn’t wait to see his bride. When they saw each other, Luis was so expressive and couldn’t stop saying “wow WOW.” In that moment it was so clear to me how much they love and care for each other deeply.

I've loved capturing their unique love in a way that speaks to who they are and getting to know them throughout the past year. It's crazy how much goes into simply wedding photography, and I'm blessed to have a job where I get to pour love onto couples and be showered with even more love from them. Thank you guys!

Congratulations to the stunner of a couple! I wish you and your family nothing but happiness and tranquility!
