I’ve been here before. Trying to figure out what to wear to a photo shoot can be the hardest part! So let’s make it easy!
First off, my goal is to focus who you are & your real relationship. Your outfits and props shouldn’t distract from YOU, but enhance the photo & show your personalities. When the outfits are intentional, it look phenomenal.
When on a beach, maybe leave shoes at home. In the woods? Wear your favorite boots! Bring layers because you never know when it’s cold/windy.
When I “pose” people, it’s all movement-based so we get those candid, natural moments. Wear outfits you not only can move around easily in, but that also catches movement! Think flowy, long hairstyles, fringe sleeves etc!
Dont distract. Impact! Mixing simple patterns, textures, and solids add variety and are important. If your partner is wearing a floral dress, wear a solid shirt. Pick a certain color palette and play with shades within it to make sure you coordinate.
If you don’t want stiff photos, don’t wear anything you’re not comfy in
Pick colors that complement each other, not necessarily match perfectly.
I always recommend neutrals, BUT before you show up in white t shirts, hear me out. There are neutrals in every color: instead of bright red, wear burgundy. Instead of lime green, wear forest green. Feel free to rule break if you want a glamorous hot pink suit tho 😉 As long as it’s coordinated well, that’s what matters!
You don’t necessarily need to buy a whole new wardrobe for your sesh (unless you want to!). Wear/bring things that feel like an extension of your personality. Whether that’s boho, rock & roll t shirts, skateboards, surfboards, leather jackets, funky hats, coffee, beer, your pet etc.
& when in doubt, I’m happy to help.
