Throughout Vegas’ history, it’s been the iconic place to elope. And while nowadays a lot of couples choose to elope out in nature, there’s something vibrant and classic about eloping at a little chapel in Vegas. That’s exactly what Denali and Roman decided to tie the knot officially at the Bliss Chapel on the famous Vegas Strip. Since my fiancé Gavin has moved there, it’s been so fun working and living part time in Las Vegas!
Like many COVID couples, Roman and Denali were supposed to get married in Mexico last May but ended up having to postpone. Finally, they decided to keep their original date, so they did a small ceremony locally in Texas. But she bought an incredible dress that she wanted to wear and celebrate in, so Vegas became their plan B!
They started off the trip with their closest friends and family at the Flamingo hotel, where they gambled and partied all weekend. On the day of their “elopement”/vow renewal, we took some casual getting ready photos in their retro hotel room and did a first look in the flamingo exhibit at the hotel. We got some fun photos around the hotel and some of them gambling (it IS Vegas, after all!).
After, we went around the Strip and the Welcome to Las Vegas sign for some more fun and laid back photos before heading off to the Bliss chapel.
Don’t skimp on hotel getting ready photos! This is often the most special and intimate part of getting married, and just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you can’t have the special moments a wedding would have!
Do a first look! Or if you’re getting ready together, why not make it special by reading private vows or letters before the ceremony.
Most Vegas weddings are in the middle of the day in the blazing sun. To get good photos during this time, find some shade! They had shade in the jungle of their hotel, but ask your photographer if they have recommendations for spots like this!
