Since I did an insider tips blog on my wedding venue, Green Gables, I wanted to ask the coordination team there about their insider tips for couples!

The Trademark team is so full of knowledge, experience, and talent that it feels like we’re winning the lottery here!!! All of us brides getting into wedding planning have a lot to learn from these folks, so I’m grateful they wanted to share their best tips!

Kindly request that your officiant exit the frame during your first kiss as a married couple.

“Nowadays, it’s incredibly popular to have a close friend or family member act as your officiant on your big day. There’s nothing more special than someone who truly knows you helping you seal your marriage! After the “You may now kiss the bride/groom” prompt, it’s not uncommon for officiants to linger in the center of the shot, right between you & yours sealing your first kiss as a married couple. Remind your officiant to exit the frame right after their kissing prompt to let your photographer capture your perfect first kiss photo. You can even practice this with your officiant the day prior to your wedding at your rehearsal!” – Trademark Team

^^^ Yes to this especially! It’ll make your photos look even better when there’s not an awkward head sticking out from behind ya!

Ask a friend or family member to record toasts & more

“If you haven’t hired a videographer, and even if you have, you can ask a trusted friend or relative to record special moments during your wedding, like first dances and Maid of Honor speeches on your cell phone. This ensures that all of those heartfelt and meaningful moments will be a click away anytime you’re feeling nostalgic.

Added bonus – feeling anxious to get your album back from your photographer and eagerly awaiting your wedding video? All of the photos and videos on your cell phone should hold you over in the meantime while your amazing vendors work their magic!” – Trademark Team

I’d also add that it’s a good idea to hire a photographer that also gives sneak peeks, which means you’ll get a few photos edited almost immediately so you have something to cherish, look at, and post right after your wedding!

And when you have a guest record the speeches, etc., just make sure they know to stand behind the tables so they don’t get in the videographer and photographer’s shot!

Take some time to soak it all in

“It’s so easy to get caught up in the festivities on your wedding day that you may not take a minute to take in each moment. Years from now, you’ll be glad you took a minute every now and then to really breathe, look at your new spouse, all of those who came together on your day to celebrate your love, and enjoy the moment.

Take a moment during dinner and do a quick scan of the room, your closest friends and family filling the room with smiles and laughter, your DJ playing a song you and your fiancé(e) selected together, you will cherish this very moment in your heart for years.” – Trademark Team
