When Kailey and Louis reached out for their Coronado Island engagement session, I knew it was going to be a special one. This amazing couple moved to California from the East Coast, where Louis serves as a military helicopter pilot, and they wanted a session that reflected both their adventurous spirit and the beautiful coastal charm of San Diego. We met up on a sunny day in Coronado, ready to explore this stunning island and capture their love story.
We started the session strolling through one of the most gorgeous parts of Coronado, just by the famous Hotel del Coronado. This area is known for its charming coastal architecture and tall palm trees, so it was the perfect setting for these two to wander around hand-in-hand.
We shot a few photos by the luxurious beachside mansions, with Kailey looking like an absolute dream in her bubble skirt bridal dress (seriously, how cute is that??) and heels. She looked every bit the bride-to-be, while Louis complemented her perfectly in a crisp white shirt. They both totally embodied that effortless, timeless vibe that made the whole neighborhood pop in the best way.
After exploring the neighborhood, we made our way to Coronado Beach. Kailey and Louis swapped their dressy looks for cozy sweaters and jeans—the perfect beach vibe for a fun, casual part of the shoot.
And let me tell you, the timing was perfect. As we hit the beach, the sky was already starting to turn golden as sunset approached. If you’re ever looking for that dreamy golden hour, Coronado is where it’s at! We spent some time running around the sand dunes and capturing their playful, carefree energy. I love a good beach shoot, but it’s even better when the couple is so comfortable and just having a blast together.
As if things couldn’t get any better, we wrapped up the session with a little picnic on the beach and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate their engagement! There’s something so special about just hanging out, sipping champagne, and soaking up the sunset—it’s the perfect way to end an engagement shoot.
The best part of this whole session was how natural and fun it felt. It wasn’t about stiff poses or anything forced—just Kailey and Louis being themselves, having a good time, and celebrating their love. The whole vibe was so relaxed.
It felt like hanging out with old friends, creating memories while exploring Coronado Island.
If you’re looking for a spot in San Diego that’s both elegant and fun, Coronado Island should be on your radar! Between the coastal architecture, the gorgeous beaches, and the stunning sunsets, it’s got everything you need for the perfect engagement session. Whether you want formal portraits or candid moments by the sea, Coronado is the perfect mix of romance and adventure.
Kailey and Louis’s engagement session was full of laughter, love, and candid moments that just felt so natural. From their time exploring the Coronado neighborhoods to splashing in the waves at sunset, every moment was filled with joy and love.
If you’re looking for an engagement session that’s laid-back but still full of gorgeous moments, Coronado Island is definitely a place you want to consider.
I’d love to help you capture your love story—whether it’s on the beach, in a neighborhood, or anywhere in between.
Let’s work together to capture your love in a way that feels natural and true to who you are!
