Tiffani + Louis got engaged right on this beach next to the lifeguard tower, so it was fitting that we did their engagement session right here! When Louis proposed, it was a romantic and memorable night when Tiffani was visiting him.
They’ve been doing long distance for about 4 years now, with him being down in San Diego for the Navy and her living in Sacramento as she continues with her teaching career. Now, they just got their first place together, so Tiffani will be joining Louis in San Diego starting in January! Finally after years of waiting, they can finally be together in the same city!
These two are tying the knot next year back home in NorCal, and I’m so excited to photograph their wedding day.
For their engagement shoot, we started by the sand dunes at Coronado beach (where there were literally 10 other photographers doing sessions on a Monday in November), then made our way over to the water for some epic shots with Point Loma and the sunset as a backdrop. We got the best golden hour light that warmed up their skin and made for gorgeous photos.
Finally, once the sun went down over the horizon, blue hour begun. I love blue hour at Coronado because there’s still enough light to get some beautiful shots with the Hotel Del Coronado in the background. Who doesn’t want photos with that iconic red and white hotel? Luckily the construction was complete on it so there wasn’t any scaffolding in our way!
We captured them standing on the lifegaurd tower too (shhh… we know we’re technically not allowed), just because getting the sand, the tower, and the whole hotel in one shot is like the most classic “San Diego” thing ever!!! I’m so happy to share our mutual love of this place with them!
