When Brontee and Cole reached out to me, they said “we love the warmth in your photography. Your pictures look joyous, which is what we want to portray at our wedding.” What they said really stuck with me.
Wedding days are a blessing to be able to capture. It’s not something I take lightly. They’re one of the most joyful moments in people’s lives, and as we know, life can be really hard. When those tough times come, it’s incredible to have joyful photos to look back on and propel you forward.
When we talked on the phone, we realized that Brontee and I share a love of the South of France. In fact, we both studied abroad in the same small town in France (Aix-en-Provence… my heart lives there ❤️)!
She was ecstatic and told me that their venue owner is a huge Francophile, and that all the little details of the venue are French. Some pieces even imported! This made me SOOOO pumped to shoot their day even more. Their warm wedding colors matched with the perfect sunny weather and sand-colored stone really made it feel like a destination wedding in Tuscany, Spain, or France. To say it was magical is an understatement.
When I arrived, all the bridesmaids and groomsmen were partying and cracking jokes as they got ready. Really the best way to start a wedding day, right?!
She had the most beautiful and sentimental details I photographed, and a getaway party dress and fur coat for the end of the night. Because when it’s your wedding day, you deserve some epic outfit changes!!! It really inspired me to have a cool getaway outfit for my own wedding day!
Brontee put on her dress and completed the modern French chic vibes of the day. Then, we were ready for one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever witnessed.
The love they have for each other is kind, sweet, and gentle, yet loud and full of laughter and sarcasm. I felt privileged to witness it. Their ceremony was full of tears and massive, contagious smiles. They’re the type of couple that you KNOW right when you meet them that they’re the real deal. The forever kind. The written-in-the-stars kind.
Following the emotional and Christ-centered ceremony, the craziest dance party ensued at the reception. Cole’s brother/best man who couldn’t leave NZ due to COVID gave a virtual speech. The whole night was full of more sentimental moments, and then came the epic dance floor!
To end the night, the venue actually allowed them to do a sparkler exit, which is very rare in SoCal! And although there was a slight fear I’d get my hair burned off as they ran down the sparkler tunnel, it was one of the most memorable grand exits I’ve ever photographed! They got into a vintage red convertible and drove off for their tropical honeymoon. The perfect end to the perfect night!
