The joy and free-spirited nature of Caroline and Thomas was palpable from the moment I met them. As a wedding photographer, being able to capture love stories for happy, chill people is what I live for, and their Michigan wedding was no exception. This beautiful couple’s special day was filled with emotional family moments, vintage vibes, and a breathtaking natural backdrop that made for stunning photographs.

The bond between Caroline and Thomas and their families was truly remarkable. I was immersed in a sea of emotional moments, from Caroline’s tearful moment when honoring her late mother, to the heartfelt speeches delivered by their loved ones. It was evident that this couple was surrounded by immense love and support on their big day.

Vintage Vibes and a Warm Color Palette

Caroline and Thomas had a distinct vision for their wedding, and it was characterized by vintage aesthetics and a warm color palette. From the beautifully aged decor of the venue to the florals, every detail resonated with their free-spirited personalities. The mix of subtle creams, soft browns, and muted oranges created an inviting atmosphere that perfectly reflected the couple’s laid-back and romantic style.

Even though Caroline and Thomas now call Southern California their home, they wanted their wedding to be back home in Benton Harbor, Michigan, allowing nature to play a prominent role in their celebration. The venue was adorned with lush greenery that beautifully complemented the neutral color palette, enhancing the old school vintage vibe.

Candle Lighting for her mom

One of the sweetest moment from this wedding was how Caroline lit a candle for her mom, who was watching from heaven that day. Her brothers then joined for a special quiet moment. And then Thomas joined.

Losing someone close to you is so hard, especially when they can’t be with you on your wedding day. I thought this was such a great way for Caroline to spend a moment with and honor her mom at her wedding.

Sunset Romance at Lake Michigan

Being so close to the great lakes, we had to go to the beach at Lake Michigan for some breathtaking sunset photos. The golden hour cast a warm glow over the couple as they embraced and walked along the shoreline. It was an idyllic setting, perfectly encapsulating the free-spirited essence of Caroline and Thomas’ love.

And then… we partied. As you do at an Italian wedding!!!

I am honored to have been a part of their special day, and I wish Caroline and Thomas a lifetime of love, happiness, and sun-kissed memories.
