Picture this: a blazing hot summer day in Valley of Fire, where the desert sun paints everything in gold and orange. A couple from Canada, dressed in country style—Milie in a windswept white dress, Mac in cowboy boots, hat, and a bolo tie—chose this epic and rugged backdrop for their intimate elopement.
Cruising in a vintage convertible, wind in their hair and laughter in the air, we explored the rugged beauty of Nevada’s Valley of Fire. As the sun dipped low, the rocks turned shades of red and sandstone, creating a magical pink sunset that set the scene for an unforgettable photo shoot.
The day quickly became one of adventure and the building of a new friendship. I took them to some of my favorite hidden spots and panoramic views, capturing moments that were both spontaneous and stunning. It’s one of my favorite photo locations near Vegas, and one of the best hidden gems of the southwestern USA! We laughed, played, ran around, sweated a bit, and scrambled up rocks together. Valley of Fire became part of their love story—a day filled with laughter, love, and the wild charm of the desert. It was a blessing getting to witness another beautiful testament to the power of love, right here in Las Vegas’s stunning backyard.
As the stars lit up the night sky, we headed back to Vegas to prepare for the next day. Milie and Mac were gonna make their elopement official by getting married by Elvis at one of Las Vegas’ iconic chapels: the Chapel of Hearts. Valley of Fire was just the beginning!
The next day, I met up with them at the chapel, along with their families, so they could officially tie the knot! Their families flew from all over and we witnessed a hilarious and intimate ceremony performed by an Elvis impersonator. It doesn’t get more “Vegas” than that!
We made everything official, shared some champagne, and took off to a secret rooftop on the Vegas Strip for some private vows. Milie and Mac wanted to share their wedding with their closest people, but they also wanted to keep some of it just between them. We drove their convertible to the rooftop overlooking the Strip, and they shared some tears, laughs, and promises together. It was very special and sweet. A perfect way to send them back off into their Vegas vacation and married life together!
We still keep in touch nowadays, and I can’t wait to see them again in the future!!
Whether you’re planning your own elopement or dreaming of a destination wedding in Las Vegas, I’m happy to help you every step of the way. Let’s create magic amidst the stunning landscapes and turn your love story into a vibrant adventure that you’ll cherish forever.
