Even though Allison and Matt weren’t able to have their original wedding plan, their plan B coronavirus-friendly wedding was spectacular! They got married at a family friend’s home in Rancho Santa Fe in front of a backyard lake, and boy was it stunning! The home looked like a real wedding venue, only better! Their families were so supportive and they’re one of the most kind groups of people I’ve ever met.
Allison and Matt are one of those couples who are truly meant to be. They are a match made in heaven, and their faith and love for Jesus Christ is incredible. We all cried during their prayer (they prayed together instead of doing a first look!), and their entire wedding had Christ-like marriage all over it. It makes me so happy when couples see how marriage is so much deeper than just a wedding. It’s a binding together of two souls.
But one of my favorite parts about their wedding was how we went to In N Out afterwards! Allison really wanted to do a cute photo shoot in their wedding clothes after they left the wedding. I was ecstatic when she asked me to photograph!
They currently live in Phoenix, AZ, where they now work at GCU. That’s where they met! A mutual friend introduced them, and it was head over heels for them both. They were study buddies and couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Matt proposed when he visited her in San Diego last summer! He’s is planning on being in ministry but is living on GCU’s campus as an RD. Talk about dream job! Allison is an education major and will start teaching in the fall.
If you’re getting married and want to do something fun and unique with your photographer, consider doing a photo shoot at a favorite restaurant after your reception is over! Why not?!
