If we haven’t met yet, I’m Bree — a wedding photographer and past bride (just got married in April!). I’ve been to over 100 weddings and planned my own (by myself ), so I’ve seen a thing or 2 when it comes to planning!
Today, I’m sharing a wedding hack I learned from my own wedding at Green Gables!
Disclaimer: There’s no right or wrong way to do a wedding… but as your resident hype-girl, I want you to cheer you on to do what YOU want for your special day!
Now, florists are amazing at their craft and are worth every penny they charge.
But for some of us, hiring a florist to do a full wedding package simply isn’t in the budget, or isn’t what we want to spend our money on. But just because you might not have the budget for it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go with grocery store flowers, diy, or silk/fake flowers.
Here are some money-saving hacks.
Here’s what we did to cut our floral budget while still having beautiful, REAL, professional flowers:
1. no arch (floor arrangements and petals instead!). We weren’t gonna be able to see it behind my big dress and our heads anyways.
2. no boutonnières. They get crushed as soon as you give a single hug anyways.
3. bud vases for the dessert & gift table
4. citrus & greenery on tables (all from neighbors trees & Sprouts! total spend: $40)
5. smaller bridesmaids bouquets. They still looked amazing.
6. ceremony aisle petals & flower girl petals (at Costco. total spend: $100)
7. repurposed our ceremony arrangements for our sweetheart table! It looked full and perfect!
There are so many ways to have beautiful, yet budget-friendly florals. Ask a florist what they might be able to do to help!
Remember, what matters is you’re getting married to your bff, and that you enjoy yourself. I hope you have the BEST day EVERRRRRR!!!! It’s gonna be AMAZING!!! 😀
Our amazing florist was @petalandfernwnc and our photographer was @forthewestandwildphoto
