Joshua Tree Adventure Anniversary Session

Aren’t they the cutest?! Sabrina + Christian found each other at a college frat party and it’s been a wild romance ever since. They got married a year ago in their hometown of Philadelphia, where they now live.

For their anniversary, they decided to take a trip out to California for a road trip up the coast. They were most interested in seeing San Diego and San Francisco, but wanted to spend most of the trip in the great outdoors.

The natural landscape of California is so different from PA so it’s no wonder they thought of doing their anniversary photo shoot at one of the most unique deserts on earth: Joshua Tree National Park!

When they reached out to me, I was so excited! Joshua tree is one of my favorites and I know it like the back of my hand. I have a whole list of my favorite spots (some secret ones too) that I like to show my couples, so they can design the shoot around their vibe and the spots that resonate with them.

This time, everything worked out perfectly. The weather was perfect, and we had the place to ourselves (mostly). First we shot at the most magnificent natural arch, which is a marvel of its own. The crazy rock formations were mind-blowing and monstrous. It’s hard to believe it’s real!

Next, we got a shot at my epic secret rock and made our way to the endless field of Joshua Trees. We took a walk along the road for some unique shots (no cars nearby, don’t worry), and finished off with a golden hour and blue hour at a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Palm Springs and Palm Desert. That part was freezing cold, but they managed it well and looked good doing it!

We had such a fun time and it’s definitely a shoot I’ll remember for a long time!
