After a stunning secluded drive through the mountains and forest, I finally arrived in Kirkwood, CA. The Hideout, the beautiful, massive retreat and wedding venue in the middle of the Lake Tahoe wilderness, greeted me.
Right away I could tell that the venue they had chosen was absolutely perfect for any nature lovers. And for laid-back and fun loving Gabryel and Anthony, nothing could’ve been more special. Their 50 friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate their love in the mountains. Luckily, this retreat allowed for all of them to stay all weekend! With a couple massive cabins for the wedding party and parents, plus a private group campground on site, everyone made a vacation out of it!
The whole vibe of the weekend felt more like a reunion and party than anything else. At their “bach” parties the night before, a few people swam in the lake next to the bride’s cabin. There’s also a 30-person hot tub built into the natural granite next to the cabin and lake for everyone to enjoy.
I hung out with their friends the night before; they all made me feel like family. One of my most treasured things about my job are the friendships that come out of it. It’s truly special.
The next day, their wedding was immediately the best. They were hanging out and brought all the chill camping vibes to their stunning day. I especially loved that Gabby opted for hiking boots instead of heels!
The boys spent the morning playing pool and chasing the dogs around. At their ceremony, everyone cried (yes, including me). It was so spectacular.
Their cocktail hour and reception were more like backyard BBQs, in a classy barn. The food was DIVINE and one of the best wedding meals I’ve ever had!
The mossy and colorful natural florals and decor really cinched the whole outdoorsy wedding vibe together. Paired with a gorgeous sunset golden hour over the mountains, this day couldn’t have been any better. Much love to you two, Gabby and Tony!
